Vetoquinol Ensiyl-F helps lessen the frequency and severity of FHV-1 infections. Enisyl-F is extremely tasty and is easily accepted by most cats.
All cats are susceptible to Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1)
It is estimated that at least 80% of all the cats in the world are infected with Feline Herpes Virus, which is a major cause of the most severe and widespread respiratory infection in cats, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR).
Up to 80% of cats who contract FHV-1 remain lifelong carriers of this highly contagious virus and can pass it on to uninfected cats through viral shedding.
Reactivation of the virus may occur spontaneously throughout an infected cat's lifetime, although it is often associated with stress.
FHV-1 presents a greater threat to kittens, in whom it causes severe respiratory and ocular symptoms. While mortality is generally low in adult cats, it can reach 30% in kittens.
In adult cats, FHV-1 flare ups are often hard to differentiate from the other two main feline infectious respiratory diseases, calicivirus and chlamydiosis.

How does it work?
Enisyl-F will help reduce the severity of FHV symptoms. Decreased corneal ulceration and abbreviated upper respiratory involvement should be noted.
How long will it be before I see any improvement?
Depending on the clinical stage of the infection, the visible signs noted above may occur as early as 7 days.
How long will my pet have to take Enisyl-F?
Length of administration depends on the actual problem. A thirty day administration program is a suggested to minimizes recurrence. Enisyl-F may be life-long, if directed by your veterinarian. Studies show a link between times of stress and FHV infections. As with all herpes infections, an animal remains a carrier through the course of its life.
It is advisable to give it to my pet every day?
As mentioned above, quite often a condition will stabilize after administration of Enisyl-F. Based on your pet's response, your veterinarian will best be able to determine future dosage. It is an essential amino acid and safe to give every day.
Will Enisyl-F interfere with any other products my pet is taking?
There are extensive studies proving the safety and efficacy of L-lysine HCl. As with all supplements your veterinarian should consider all medications or treatment protocols currently in use.
