Comfortis Chewable Tablets

Flea Prevention for Dogs and Cats

Comfortis (Spinosad) kills fleas and are indicated for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) on cats and dogs for one month. Comfortis starts killing fleas in 30 minutes before they can lay eggs.

Usual Dose
For dogs and cats 14 weeks of age or older.  Give by mouth once per month.  May be chewed or offered in food.

·         Dogs/Puppies

o   Pink Box – 5-10 lbs.

o   Orange Box - 10.1-20 lbs.

o   Green Box – 20.1-40 lbs.

o   Blue Box – 40.1-60 lbs.

o   Brown Box – 60.1-120 lbs.

o   Over 120 lbs – give the appropriate combination of tablets

  • Cats/Kittens
    • Pink Box – 4.1-6 lbs.
    • Orange Box – 6.1-12 lbs.
    • Green Box – 12.1-24 lbs.

Precautions

  • May cause vomiting, weight loss, decreased appetite, lethargy and/or diarrhea.  Contact your vet if your pet has these symptoms.
    • If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, re-dose with another full dose.
  • If a dose is missed, administer as soon as you remember and resume a monthly dosing schedule.
  • Talk to your vet if you plan on breeding your pet
  • Talk to your vet if your pet has a history of seizures
