Antibiotic (Clindamycin)

Antirobe (clindamycin) is a brand name antibiotic used to treat infections caused by bacteria.

Usual Dose
Administer the medication for the length of time your vet has recommended.  Do not increase or decrease the dose unless directed by your vet.  Symptoms may get better before the infection is completely gone; therefore, it is important to finish all of the medication.  Allow your pet plenty of water while taking this medication.

  • Dogs - 2.5-15mg/lb every 12 hours
  • Cats - 5-15mg/lb every 24 hours for a maximum of 14 days.

Precautions

  • May cause diarrhea
  • If the diarrhea is watery or has blood in it, contact you vet
  • Do not use any other medications to stop the diarrhea unless instructed by your vet
  • Talk to your vet if your pet has any other diseases, is pregnant, or lactating
  • Let your vet know prior to any surgeries that your pet is taking Antirobe
