Cosequin for dogs is a supplement that helps maintain healthy joints.  It does not have the harsh side effects that accompany some prescription medications.  Cosequin helps maintain joint and cartilage tissue health.

Usual Dose
Cosequin OTC for dogs

·         Dogs 10 lbs. and under – 1/2 - 1 capsule daily

o   Can be reduced to every other day after initial 6 weeks

·         Dogs 10-24 lbs. – 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the evening

o   Can be reduced to 1 capsule daily after initial 6 weeks

Precautions

  • Side effects are rare but may include diarrhea
  • Consult with your vet if your dog is diabetic
