Chloramphenicol Antibiotic

Antibiotic used to treat many common bacterial infections such as, urinary tract infections, skin infections, intestinal infections and respiratory tract infections in dogs. 

·        Requires a prescription

Usual Dose
Dogs should be administered 25mg per pound of body weight every 6 hours.

Precautions

  • Tell your vet if your dog is pregnant, plans to breed, or lactating.
  • Some experiments indicate this drug can cause significant disorders in morphology and function of gonads
  • Should not be administered simultaneously with Penicillin or Streptomycin.
  • May depress hematopoietic activity of the bone marrow.
