Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement
Pancrezyme is for use in animals with deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions, as a digestive aid in enzyme replacement therapy where digestion of carbohydrate, protein and fat is inadequate. Pancrezyme is an an enzymatic concentrate derived from porcine pancreas containing standardized lipase, protease and amylase plus esterases, peptidases, nucleases and elastase.
Dosage and Administration:
The dose should be adjusted according to the severity of the condition and the weight of the animal.
- Tablets
- Adult dogs: The average dose is 2-3 tablets with each meal
- Adult cats: 1/2-1 tablet with each meal
- Powder
- Adult dogs: 3/4-1 teaspoonful with each meal
- Adult cats: 1/4-3/4 teaspoonful with each meal
Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry) and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. Frequent feeding, at least three (3) times a day is important.
Precautions: Discontinue use in animals with symptoms of sensitivity.
